Luton Town fan caught punching fellow supporter live on Sky Sports cameras in loss vs Reading
Luton Town fans have been caught on camera for an unwanted moment in the aftermath of their 3-2 defeat away at Reading on Thursday night.
The results leaves Jack Wilshere’s side sitting seventh in League One and outside the play-off places by three points, although they have played more games than all of the teams around them.
Wilshere was tipped for success at Luton by Mikel Arteta, and he has already begun to turn their fortunes around, as his team have lost just two of their 13 games in all competitions since his arrival in October.
However, they were beaten in frustrating fashion in Berkshire in midweek, as second-half goals from Jordan Clark and Nigel Lonwijk had erased a two-goal deficit.
Their joy was short-lived, as substitute Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan netted the winner for Reading in the 78th minute, just two minutes after Lonwijk’s equaliser.

Luton fan reacts to remonstrations towards Cohen Bramall
Wilshere has slowly breathed life into Luton’s campaign after a dismal start under his predecessor Matt Bloomfield had left them languishing in mid-table.
Expectations are high for the Bedfordshire outfit in the third tier, as they have returned to that level following back-to-back relegations saw them fall from the heights of the Premier League.
The Hatters had drawn three league games in a row prior to Thursday’s defeat, and the frustration from supporters was evident after full-time, as they had watched their team throw away a promising position in the game.
Former Arsenal youngster Cohen Bramall headed over to the away end after the full-time whistle to engage with the fans, and he and centre-back Teden Mengi even began a conversation with a group of supporters.
The exchange was captured by the Sky Sports cameras and clearly shows one fan taking issue with his fellow supporter, who was remonstrating with Bramall.
Footage posted on X shows the Luton fan leaning down from the row behind and punching the first man in the back, who then retaliated by turning around and pushing his counterpart away.
It served as an unwanted end to what was a frustrating night for all involved with Luton.
The Hatters’ upcoming fixtures provide a perfect opportunity
Luton’s campaign in League One hasn’t been as easy as many people expected so far, but they are set to receive the perfect opportunity to put themselves in a strong position over the next four games.
Wilshere’s side are firmly in the race for the play-offs, and are still only eight points off Bradford City in the second automatic promotion spot, although the Bantams do have two games in hand at the moment.
| Date | Opponent | H/A |
| 26 December | Wycombe | H |
| 29 December | Leyton Orient | H |
| 1 January | Exeter | A |
| 4 January | Doncaster | A |
| 10 January | Stevenage | H |
However, Luton’s upcoming fixtures give them a serious chance of being able to cement themselves inside the all-important top six by the opening week of the New Year.
Home clashes with Wycombe and Leyton Orient are next on the horizon, before trips to Exeter City and Doncaster Rovers follow in the opening days of January.
All four of those sides are currently in the bottom half of the table, while the latter duo are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the pack.
Luton couldn’t really ask for a better run of games across the festive period, and if they can secure favourable results in that time, then an immediate return to the Championship could become a distinct possibility.
