Mac Allister reacts to ‘important’ Luis Diaz message amid Liverpool exit rumours
Alexis Mac Allister reacted to a major update for Luis Diaz on social media as rumours swirl of a Liverpool exit this summer.
The Colombian winger enjoyed his most productive season in a Red shirt since joining from Porto in 2022, registering 17 goals and five assists in all competitions.
But Diaz’s numbers are a little deceptive. The 28-year-old started strongly but found the back of the net just once between December and April.
The Colombian international was Liverpool’s second-highest goal-scorer last season, but struggled for long stretches.
Much of the Reds’ goal-scoring burden fell on the shoulders of Ballon d’Or front-runner Mohamed Salah, who registered an astonishing 57 goal contributions in all competitions.
But given Diaz, Diogo Jota, and Saudi Pro League target Darwin Nunez‘s struggles, Liverpool are expected to search for a striking alternative this summer, with Alexander Isak one of several names linked with a move to Anfield.

Luis Diaz shares ‘important’ message on social media
Following the culmination of the season, Diaz has used the break in football to get married.
The Colombian shared images from his wedding to Instagram, captioned: “Así arrancó uno de los días más importantes de mi vida: entre risas, nervios, buena energía y rodeado de los míos.”
Which translates to: “This is how one of the most important days of my life began: between laughter, nerves, good energy and surrounded by my loved ones.”
The post was liked by Liverpool teammates Mac Allister and Conor Bradley, showing their support for the 28-year-old.
Luis Diaz faces uncertain future after Barcelona move rejected
Football Insider Verdict
Diaz looked certain for a move away this summer, until Liverpool blocked an approach from Barcelona for the winger [The Guardian].
At 28 years old and with just two years remaining on his current deal, now seemed the perfect opportunity to get a big cash injection by selling the Colombian.
Liverpool have an eye on Anthony Gordon, and selling their winger would have gone a long way to financing a move for the England international.
There is still plenty of time to go in the transfer window and there may be another move for Diaz in the offing.
But it seems a puzzling decision by Liverpool, and it will be interesting to see whether the ex-Porto man’s contract is extended, or if the Reds instead choose to let the winger run down his current deal.
