Macca: McGinn could 'easily' join Liverpool this summer after Athletic latest
Frank McAvennie claims John McGinn can make the step up to Liverpool and backed him to go “all the way to the top”.
The former Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the latest reports on the midfielder.
On 1st July Liverpool Echo claimed Jurgen Klopp is a “huge admirer” of McGinn.
The Athletic also reported on 23rd June that Villa will only entertain a potential deal for McGinn if the bidding starts at between £45-50million.
McGinn, 26, scored three goals and picked up six assists in 37 Premier League outings last term.
The midfielder has become a key man for Dean Smith during his three years in the midlands.

McAvennie insists the transfer could happen and claims McGinn is still underrated.
“He could easily join Liverpool,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He’s an amazing player. I still think he’s underrated.
“He just goes about his business in midfield, he tackles, gets up and down the park.
“He could certainly make the step up, no problem. I have no doubts at all.
“McGinn can go right to the very top, I’m sure. He’s a top Scottish talent and it’s great to see him being talked about with Liverpool.”
McGinn joined Villa from Hibernian in the summer of 2018 after becoming a key player for the Scottish side.
He has so far made 111 appearances for the Villians, scoring 13 goals and 19 assists.
