Ray Wilkins labelled Eric Dier “magnificent” for his performance at centre back against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
In his weekly Premier League gradings, the Sky Sports pundit awarded Tottenham an ‘A’ grade for their performance against Crystal Palace and picked out Eric Dier’s performance for special praise.
He wrote: “Pochettino will be delighted that they’ve managed to get a clean sheet, Eric Dier was magnificent at centre-half.”
The 23-year-old has featured 17 times for Tottenham across all competitions this season, registering one assist in the process.
Dier’s main position is playing as a defensive midfielder but the versatile player can be utilised in several different positions.
This season alone, Dier has played 13 times as a defensive midfielder but also played three games at centre back and one on the right side of midfield.
The midfielder has been at Spurs since 2014 after moving from Primeira Liga’s Sporting.
The England international has played a total of 152 times for Tottenham, scoring eight goals and grabbing seven assists.
Tottenham were victorious against bottom of the league Crystal Palace, defeating them 1-0 thanks to a goal from Son Heung-min.
Spurs now sit third in the Premier League level on points with Manchester United, and eight points behind current league leaders Manchester City.
From 11 games played, Tottenham have won 23 points, registering 7 wins in the process.
Tottenham’s next game, after the international break, is the north London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates.
