Rodgers gamble fails: Three things learned about Celtic in draw v St Johnstone
Celtic were held to a goalless draw by St Johnstone at Celtic Park, as a much-changed Hoops side failed to increase their lead at the top of the league.
Brendan Rodgers made seven changes from the side which defeated Zenit, bringing in Calvin Miller, Cristian Gamboa, Jack Hendry, Tom Rogic, Charly Musonda, Scott Sinclair and Odsonne Edouard as the Hoops boss picked his line-up with the second leg in Russia in mind.
The match-winner against Zenit, Callum McGregor captained the side in the absence of the suspended Scott Brown.
Aside from an Kristoffer Ajer that was saved by Alan Mannus, the Saints had arguably the best chance of the first-half, David Wotherspoon heading over the bar.
In the second-half, despite the introduction of James Forrest, Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney, the Hoops still failed to create many clear cut chances, and aside from Sinclair and Edouard having shots saved, the Perth side were well-worthy of their point.
The Hoops boss has plenty to think about heading into the trip to Russia on Thursday.
