‘Major Eddie Howe update at Newcastle United amid England claims’
Newcastle United look to have confirmed their plans for the future of manager Eddie Howe, according to a report from The Telegraph.
Howe took over the Magpies back in November 2021, leaving his role with Bournemouth to replace Steve Bruce at St James’ Park.
Since then he has taken the club from a relegation dogfight to regularly competing for a place in European football.
Even so, Simon Jordan recently suggested Newcastle will eventually sack Howe as they look to move forward with their pursuit of trophies, even if they defeat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final, and that he could then replace Thomas Tuchel with England.
Nicky Butt meanwhile has also claimed that Howe ought to have been made England manager already instead of the German.
Now it has been revealed whether the Magpies could be willing to free up the 47-year-old to take up a role with the Three Lions in the near future.

Eddie Howe set to be backed by Newcastle United
According to this latest update from the Telegraph, Newcastle have put in place a plan to compete for major trophies within the next five years.
Questions have been asked about whether Howe will be part of those plans, but as things stand it appears that he will be.
It is stated that chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan has praised the job that the 47-year-old has done since taking charge at St James’ Park.
He is said to have re-affirmed how Newcastle still see Howe as a long-term appointment and the right person to turn the club into consistent challenger for major trophies.
Howe last signed a long-term contract at St James’ Park in the summer of 2022, after he had saved the club from relegation from the Premier League.

Ultimately, Howe has done an excellent job since he took charge of the club, and there is no way he deserves to be under pressure right now.
However, there may be some concerns about his lack of trophy-winning experience as Newcastle look to achieve frequent success in the years to come.
The 47-year-old could of course go some way to alleviating those concerns if he guides his side to victory in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool on Sunday (16 March).

Games Played | 162 |
Games Won | 84 |

If he is unsuccessful there though, some questions will remain about whether he can be the man to end that wait for silverware.
As a result, if Howe is backed as looks likely at Newcastle, he will surely be under pressure to repay that faith with the silverware the club clearly want.
Should he be unable to do that, it could force Al-Rumayyan to change his stance in order to get a return on his investment.
