‘Making stuff up’ – Rangers fans berate Stuart Kettlewell’s post-match ‘lie’ after 2-0 win
Rangers fans have berated Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell for his post-match “lie” after the Gers’ 2-0 win on Sunday (24 December).
Kettlewell was adamant that his Steelmen should have “a couple” of penalties but honed in on a divisive call when striker Mika Biereth was “quite clearly” pulled to the ground.
Philippe Clement’s side secured victory at Fir Park with a 2-0 win thanks to early goals from Kieran Dowell and Todd Cantwell, shortening the gap with table toppers Celtic to just two points.
Kettlewell, whose side remain in 11th place and a strong contender for relegation, was disappointed that his team were not given the foul and claimed that he’d frequently seen similar incidents given as fouls this season.
Motherwell have not earned three points since September after a 15-game winless run, while Rangers have not lost a game in all competitions in 17.
Regardless of the boss’ complaints, Rangers dominated his side and peppered Liam Kelly’ net with 14 shots, while Motherwell failed to register a single shot on target.
The Rangers faithful have taken to social media to hound out the 39-year-old, and some feel he is just making stuff up.
