Boyata’s awful performance began when his mistake let in Windass to open the scoring after only three minutes. He found it difficult to recover from that as his confidence seemed to go to pieces.
A similar mistake in the second-half almost let in Morelos, and perhaps the decision to start him after so long out injured was a mistake in retrospect.
With Simunovic suspended it will be interesting to see if the manager sticks with him for the Hoops’ next match, a league trip to Motherwell next Sunday.
