Man City 115 charges: Boardroom source shares intriguing ‘leak’ verdict
Man City are still awaiting the outcome of their 115 charges case against the Premier League after a secret hearing at the end of 2024.
The verdict in the club’s long-running battle is due in the coming weeks after the case was originally brought two years ago.
Richard Masters, Premier League chief executive, was asked about the case at the Financial Times’ Business of Football Summit but only said: “The disciplinary panel has heard the case and they must be left alone now to consider their decision.”
Man City have always denied wrongdoing and claim they have irrefutable evidence to prove their innocence.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has delivered an intriguing new verdict after Masters’ comments.
Man City verdict expected around Easter, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed it is “interesting” that there has been no “leak” of information from the case.
The hearing was held in central London and the independent panel will now be poring over the case as they prepare to deliver a verdict.
Wyness insisted news could come “around Easter” – with any potential punishments for Man City set to be announced around the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It’s a complex case with so many charges and so much evidence.
“It is going to take a few months.
“I’m expecting some sort of decision on where the liability is around Easter.
“After that, it could be the end of the season before we see any potential sanctions – depending where that liability lies, on Man City or not.
Position | Club | Games | Points | GD (+/-) |

4 | Man City | 27 | 47 | +16 |
5 | Chelsea | 27 | 46 | +16 |
6 | Newcastle | 27 | 44 | +8 |
“It’s a fascinating case.
“What has been interesting is that there have been very few leaks on this.
“Normally there is some sort of leak or idea, but it’s been very well-guarded so far. I wish my sources could tell me more, but at the moment I’m afraid there are no real leads.”

Saudi trio keen on Man City star
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (3 March) that Man City star Ederson has a “strong possibility” of joining a Saudi Pro League club this summer.
Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad have entered the race for the goalkeeper’s signature.
He has made 28 appearances across all competitions this season with Man City struggling for form – and will have just 12 months remaining on his contract in June.
