‘Man City accelerate huge overhaul’ – fans stunned as three more exits confirmed

Manchester City are accelerating a huge shake-up behind the scenes after multiple exits have been confirmed at the Etihad.

The 10-time English champions have endured a challenging season after failing to defend their Premier League title for a fifth year in a row.

The Manchester giants have also missed out on all the other major trophies after suffering defeat to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final on 17 May.

The Community Shield has proven to be Man City’s only success of the campaign following their victory over Manchester United on penalties last August.

Pep Guardiola’s side had looked set to miss out on Champions League football at various points this season, but they secured a third-place finish following their 2-0 victory over Fulham on the final day.

They will head to the US to take part in the Club World Cup next month, where the winner of the competition will bank around £97million in prize money.

Man City could let 10 players go in coming weeks

Guardiola has warned he will quit Man City if he has to work with a large squad again next season.

Speaking to the media on 20 May, he said: “I told the club I don’t want a big squad. I don’t want to put five, six players in the [squad], I don’t want that. I will quit.

“If they don’t make a short squad, I will not stay. It’s impossible for my soul to put players in the tribune and cannot play.”

Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider Man City could let 10 players go before they make any new signings this summer.

Guardiola has also decided to reshuffle his backroom team after the club have confirmed three members of staff will leave the Etihad.

Assistant coaches Juanma Lillo and Inigo Dominguez are heading for an exit following the expiration of their contracts, while Carlos Vicens has agreed to become the new Braga manager.

Pep Guardiola takes drastic action after Man City exits

Man City fans have been surprised to see Guardiola take such decisive action as three of his closest allies are set to leave the Etihad.

It’s a sign the Catalan recognises he needs fresh ideas as he looks to help his side challenge for trophies again next season.

There looks set to be a huge overhaul of staff and players at the Etihad this summer following a challenging campaign for the Premier League side.

Guardiola will likely want his new assistants in place within weeks as Man City prepare to take part in the Club World Cup, which begins on 15 June and ends on 13 July.
