Man City and Chelsea stars react to Morgan Rogers’ ‘massive’ message after confirmed news
Premier League stars across the division shared their reaction to Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers being recognised for his outstanding performances.
Rogers has been exceptional under Unai Emery ever since his arrival in February 2024, but it was the 2024/25 campaign where he truly came into his own.
The 23-year-old registered an impressive 30 goals and assists in all competitions last season, cementing himself as one of Villa’s most important players. While he is yet to hit top form in the new season, he remains a crucial figure in Emery’s plans.
That success has inevitably attracted interest from elsewhere. Football Insider revealed Aston Villa are determined to keep hold of Rogers despite strong interest from Chelsea and Tottenham
Chelsea were even willing to offer two players in exchange for Rogers interest but it seems as if Emery is desperate not to lose the Englishman.
Meanwhile, his impact has now been further underlined after he was rewarded with a prestigious award, a reflection of just how far he has risen since making the move to Villa Park.

Morgan Rogers wins PFA Young Player of the Year
On 19 August, the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) awards were held, with Aston Villa star Rogers crowned PFA Young Player of the Year for the 2024/25 season.
The versatile forward shared a heartfelt message on Instagram to mark the achievement, writing: “A massive honour to win this award. Thank you to my peers for voting for me. PFA Young Player Of The Year.”
His post was quickly met with a wave of support from across the Premier League. Teammates Ollie Watkins and Lucas Digne left fire emojis in response, while Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice commented: “Well deserved mate.”
High-profile stars such as Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Cole Palmer also showed their appreciation by liking the announcement.
Rogers claimed the award ahead of strong competition, with Liam Delap, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri also among the nominees.

Aston Villa prepare new contract offer for Morgan Rogers
Despite growing interest in the 23-year-old, Aston Villa are reportedly preparing to offer Rogers a fresh deal in an attempt to fend off suitors.
The forward only signed an extension last November that runs until 2030, but the growing attention around his performances may have prompted Villa to accelerate talks over improved terms.
Remaining at Villa Park could also boost Rogers’ chances of maintaining his spot in England contention ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
With Chelsea currently focused on Alejandro Garnacho and Tottenham closing in on Eberechi Eze, his pathway to Thomas Tuchel’s squad may be clearer if he continues to play a central role under Emery.
