Man City biggest earner revealed – and it’s not Erling Haaland
Kevin De Bruyne is the highest earner at Man City, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Belgian takes home the biggest salary of all of City’s players – higher than superstar Erling Haaland.
De Bruyne, who penned his latest City contract in May 2021, is often regarded as the Citizen’s standout player.
Haaland, who has been vital for Pep Guardiola’s side in the last 18 months and was pivotal in helping win their historic treble last season, reportedly earns £865,000-a-week when he earns achievable bonuses.

However, the Norwegian’s base salary is £375,000-a-week which is less than what De Bruyne earns following over eight years of service at the Etihad.
The midfielder’s contract at City is set to expire in the summer of 2025 and he has been frequently linked with a mega-money move to the Saudi Pro League.
While his impact at the club is undisputed, having bagged 98 goals and 165 assists across 369 appearances since his move from Wolfsburg in 2015, he has struggled with injuries in recent years.
Since the start of last season, he has missed 35 games for City, including a 29-game run between August and December 2023 with a hamstring injury.

Man City sit second in the Premier League following a 12-game unbeaten run stretching back to early December.
They are next in action at Anfield against league leaders Liverpool, who sit just one point ahead of them, on Sunday afternoon (10 March).
