Man City boss Pep Guardiola lauded by pundit after Kevin De Bruyne conversation spotted
Paul Robinson has applauded Man City manager Pep Guardiola for stopping Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne from ignoring the fans at Liverpool.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one stressed the importance of players showing appreciation to their supporters “win, lose or draw.”
The Premier League champions lost 1-0 to Liverpool on Sunday (16 October).
As reported by City Extra, Guardiola prevented Rodri and De Bruyne from walking straight down the tunnel at full-time.
The two City stars were made to show their appreciation to their travelling support before heading into the changing rooms at Anfield.
When asked by Football Insider for his reaction to the news, Robinson said: “I always used to do it win, lose or draw. It is not the fans problem if you have lost.
“They are there to support you and the team. They travel a long way to do so and with the cost of living crisis it is not cheap. It is expensive to follow your team on the road.

“For me, it is not just about celebrating with the fans when you win a game. It is about thanking them for their continued support. Players should thank the fans for the time and effort they have put in to following them.
“I think it is really important to remember that so I’m glad Guardiola called them back.”
