Man City braced for Bernardo Silva offer – sources

Man City star Bernardo Silva is wanted by clubs in Spain, Portugal and Saudi Arabia, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed last week (11 February) that Silva will assess his City future at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

He will have just 12 months left to run on his contract at the Etihad Stadium in June.

City’s last chance to cash in on the midfielder will come in the off-season – unless they can persuade him to sign yet another extension.

The attacking midfielder has long been linked with a potential return to the continent and City are now bracing for offers from Europe and the Middle East.

It is believed discussions will be held between club and player in the off-season about Silva’s future at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s side already started their rebuild in January by moving veteran defender Kyle Walker on to Italian giants AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Kevin De Bruyne is out of contract at the end of this season – and could join Silva in leaving the club after a long stint in England.

Silva has made 34 appearances across all competitions for City this season, notching three goals and four assists.

Man City turn attention to Florian Wirtz

Football Insider has revealed (14 February) that Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz “will be on Man City’s list” this summer as they search for a long-term replacement for De Bruyne.

City have also been linked to Xavi Simons, who has recently signed for RB Leipzig permanently.

Ex-Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown has told Football Insider that Guardiola’s side have already begun searching for De Bruyne’s replacement.
