Pep is losing five players to Gareth Southgate’s England squad, including Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips who have both been absent with injuries.
McAvennie insisted the Spaniard will need to enter the transfer market if players pick up injuries in Qatar.
“At this moment in time Pep will not want to buy any players,” he told Football Insider.
“But, people get injured and if people get injured at the World Cup then he will buy. There is no question about that.
“He has got more than enough players there. He has even got an England midfield player who can’t get a game.“
