Man City could sell Jack Grealish this summer in shock move – sources

Man City are willing to listen to offers for Jack Grealish this summer with a shock sale a growing possibility, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that manager Pep Guardiola is not completely convinced by the winger and he is considered dispensable despite starting the majority of the team’s big games this season.

No final decision has been made by City chiefs but Grealish, 28, is internally regarded as a star who could be sold for a big fee and raise funds for other purchases.

He arrived at the Etihad for a then British-record fee of £100million from Aston Villa in the summer of 2021 and was a key member of City’s treble-winning campaign last term.

Jack Grealish to leave Man City this summer?

This season, he has made 33 appearances in all competitions but only nine starts in the Premier League and his goals and assists record is way below that of most of his superstar teammates.

However, Guardiola has entrusted him with starts in key games, including both legs of their Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid and their FA Cup semi-final victory against Chelsea on Saturday (20 April).

After their 0-0 draw against Arsenal last month (31 March), Grealish was at the centre of a heated on-field dressing down by Guardiola, who was seemingly furious with the England international’s 29-minute cameo at the Etihad.

He has bagged three goals and three assists this season from 2024 minutes of club action, with his last strike coming in City’s 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace in December.

Man City

Man City sit second in the Premier League table and have a game in hand over the first-place Gunners, who are just one point ahead.

After they advanced to the FA Cup final with a 1-0 win over Chelsea, they are back in league action against Brighton on Thursday night (25 April).
