Man City could sign Kalvin Phillips for 'amazing' price after source's bid update - pundit
Man City would be getting an “amazing” deal if they can sign Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips for £60million.
That is according to ex-Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the “brilliant” 26-year-old’s future at Elland Road.
Phillips has two years remaining on his contract with Leeds United.
As revealed by Football Insider (13 June), Man City have tested Leeds’ resolve with a bid for their star midfielder.
According to the Daily Mail‘s Matt Hughes (10 June), Pep Guardiola’s side are willing to pay up to £60million to sign the England international this summer.
When asked by Football Insider if £60million would be enough to tempt Leeds into selling, Campbell said: “If City can get him for £60million that would be amazing.

“Philips is a brilliant player.
“Other teams were always going to be looking to Phillips this summer because he is an international player playing for one of the bottom sides in the Premier League. He doesn’t want to be in a struggling Leeds side as much as he is a local lad.
“When the likes of Man City come for you, it is hard to turn down.
“City will want a quality player like him in their midfield for sure. Guardiola wants a replacement for Fernandinho.”
Phillips struggled with injury in the 2021-22 campaign.
He made 23 appearances across all competitions.
