‘Man City could sign electric Leicester City talent for just £2m’
Man City have been widely linked with a potential swoop for highly-rated Leicester City talent Jeremy Monga.
The winger is just 15 but has featured on the first-team bench this season for Leicester after impressing at youth level.
Monga has featured for England at Under-16 level and Ruud van Nistelrooy has told the media that the club have presented a plan to the youngster in a bid to keep him at the club.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month (3 March) that Man City are set to sign Hibernian goalkeeper Ben Vickery, who is also 15.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has had his say on City landing England Under-16 captain Monga.
‘Man City have inside track’ in Monga race, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness admitted the chance to join Man City will be tempting for the “lightning” talent.
City are vastly successful at youth level and sit top of the Under-18 and Under-21 divisions this season.
Wyness insisted Monga will face a “life-changing decision”.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It will go to a tribunal if he does leave for Man City, in my opinion.
“That would set the fee at £2million or so – which is a very, very low fee for such a talented youngster.
“He’s only 15 and it may be best for him to stay if he’s got a solid family base in Leicester. I don’t know his personal situation.

“I’ve seen many cases of very talented teenagers in academies over the years. You see a physical growth in their bodies at that age all the time, so you just don’t know what the future holds.
“There’s no doubt he’s a lightning talent at the moment, I’ve been told.
“He’s one of the outstanding talents at Leicester and they’re talking about giving him a chance to be in the first-team conversation next season.
“I had Wayne Rooney at Everton when he broke into the side at 16 and scored some memorable goals.
“I just want him to feel as a person that he’s making the right decision for the long term.
“He’s got many years ahead of him.
“From Leicester’s point of view, it would go to a tribunal and it seems Man City have got the inside track on this.
“As a 15-year-old, why wouldn’t you want to go into the Man City squad and learn from those talents? I get it – and City would look after the family very well.
“It’s a life-changing decision, and it’s difficult – I wish him the best of luck.”

Man City to accept cut-price Grealish bid
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (11 March) that Man City will accept an offer for fringe star Jack Grealish in the upcoming transfer window if their reduced asking price is met.
It is believed the England international, 29, is unhappy with his role at the Etihad Stadium – almost four years on from his £100million move from Aston Villa.
Football Insider revealed (3 March) that Ederson, 31, also has a “strong possibility” of leaving Man City in the off-season.
