Man City defender Kyle Walker hailed ‘one of the best’ by pundit after ‘incredible’ dressing room reveal

Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Kyle Walker after Man City manager Pep Guardiola highlighted the defender’s importance during his time at the club.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said Walker, 32, is “one of the best” right-backs the Premier League has ever seen.

Speaking to club media (29 July), Guardiola highlighted Walker’s “energy” and “physicality”.

Guardiola also revealed that the England international is an “incredible” presence in the dressing room at the Etihad.

Walker joined the Premier League champions from Tottenham in July 2017.

He has won four league titles with the club.

His contract at the Etihad runs until the end of June 2024.

When asked by Football Insider if Walker should be recognised as the greatest right-back the Premier League has ever seen, Campbell said: “Is he the best right-back the Premier League has ever seen? It is hard to say.

There has been some unbelievable right-backs at the big sides over the years.

You can look at [Lee] Dixon and Lauren at Arsenal, Gary Neville at Man United and [Branislav] Ivanovic at Chelsea. He was solid as a rock.

There has been so many. Walker has won four Premier League title which is amazing so he deserves to be up there.

He is one of the best. Can I say he is the best ever though? I can’t fire that off.”
