Man City fans blast Josko Gvardiol after controversial footage analysed
Manchester City fans have blasted Josko Gvardiol for a “clumsy” moment in the second half of their victory over Brighton on Thursday (25 April).
The Croatian international appeared to bring down Joao Pedro after the Seagulls forward had advanced into the Citizens’ box.
But after a brief VAR check, the officials controversially decided it wasn’t a penalty, with play quickly resuming at the Amex.
It would have been unlikely to change the outcome of the game as the Premier League champions were firmly in control at that point, eventually going on to claim a 4-0 win.
Gvardiol has been a mainstay in the Man City defence since making his £77.6million move to the Etihad from RB Leipzig last summer.
Man City fans hit out at Josko Gvardiol against Brighton
The incident against Brighton wasn’t the defender’s finest moment, with one Citizens fan labelling him an “idiot”.
In other news, Man City could sell forward this summer in shock move.
