Man City fans rage at ‘shocking’ Erling Haaland as new stats emerge
Man City supporters were left raging at Erling Haaland after his performance against Sporting CP as the talisman failed to find the back of the net.
Ruben Amorim’s side hammered the defending Premier League champions 4-1 despite Phil Foden giving them the lead in the fourth minute.
Haaland had the opportunity to push City back into the game when he had a penalty with the score at 3-1, but the Norway international failed to score and hit the crossbar instead.
The penalty was one of two big chances the striker missed during the game in a fixture where he made just 15 attacking touches.
The 24-year-old failed to make any successful dribbles and only won 33% of his aerial duels in what became a game to forget for City and Haaland.
The defeat left Pep Guardiola’s team sixth in the Champions League table, having only won half of their opening four fixtures in the European competition.

Haaland’s performance continued what has been a difficult period for him, with the striker having only scored once in his previous five Premier League outings.
City’s talisman does already have three goals in the Champions League this season, but fans were quick to claim he had been “shocking again.”
