Man City fans tear into ‘fraud’ Phil Foden for what he did vs Bournemouth

Man City fans were furious with Phil Foden after his performance in their shock 2-1 Premier League defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday (November 2).

The 24-year-old lost his man in the build-up for Bournemouth’s goal, allowing left-back Milos Kerkez to set up in-form Antoine Semenyo for the opener.

Kerkez got his second assist of the game just after the hour mark, setting up record-signing Evanilson with an early cross to double their lead.

Josko Gvardiol managed to pull one back for the visitors but it was too little too late, and City suffered their first defeat of the Premier League season at the Vitality Stadium.

Foden ended the game with a zero pre cent shot accuracy rate, just one successful dribble, and six touches in the opposition box.

Since winning the Premier League Player of the Season award for his outstanding role in City’s fourth consecutive title, Foden has struggled to recapture his previous form.

The winger has started just three league games for Pep Guardiola’s side so far this season with his only goal involvement coming in the form of an assist for their controversial winner in their 2-1 victory over Wolves.

The defeat sees Guardiola’s side drop into second, with Liverpool the only side in the top three winning after Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle earlier in the day.

Man City fans start to turn on Phil Foden

The England international has fallen down the pecking order at Man City this season, with Guardiola sticking the left-winger out on the right in their defeat to Bournemouth.

Man City fans took to X, formally known as Twitter, to voice their concerns about his recent form and criticise him for his role in Bournemouth’s winner.
