Man City fans fume at officials after Ederson footage re-analysed
Man City fans were furious with the officials after Ederson gave away a penalty in their 1-1 Premier League draw with Newcastle United on Saturday (September 28).
The 31-year-old Brazilian then brought down Anthony Gordon to concede a penalty which the England International expertly dispatched.
Bruno Guimaraes slipped a ball through to Gordon who raced away from Manuel Akanji before being brought down by Ederson.
Croatia international Josko Gvardiol opened the scoring at St James’ Park in the 35th minute with his first goal of the season.
Jack Grealish did brilliantly to beat Kieran Tripper on the left before finding the defender who then beat Dan Burn and Sandro Tonali before slotting home.
Pep Guardiola’s side remain at the summit of the Premier League for now on 14 points but could lose the top spot if Liverpool beat Wolves on Saturday (September 28).
Man City goalkeeper Ederson gifted Newcastle penalty
The Brazilian had been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia over the summer but he remained at the Manchester club and has since played every minute.
Regarded as one of the best goalkeepers with the ball at his feet, Ederson already has one assist to his name so far this season, but giving away the penalty frustrated Man City fans.
