‘Man City have agreed two new signings – they are done deals’
Manchester City are looking to get their transfer business done early as they prepare to take part in the Club World Cup.
Man City and Chelsea are set to land a guaranteed £30million from the 32-team competition, which is set to take place in the US between 15 June and 13 July.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been heavily linked with AC Milan star Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki from Lyon and Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White.
Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak told Man City’s website on 29 May the club were not aggressive enough last summer as they look to agree new signings before the upcoming Club World Cup.
He said: “We have clearly identified who exactly are the targets, in what positions, and we have our clear number one option, our clear number two option, and we’ll go about our business and it will be very clear, very swift.
“And our objective is to try to be ready with the new squad for the Club World Cup.”
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider the club appear to have already agreed two new signings, with the transfer window opening on 1 June.
The 10-time English champions failed to win any of the major trophies in the latest campaign after finishing third in the Premier League table.

Man City transfer news to emerge within days
Borson suggested more transfer news will emerge early next week as Man City look to wrap up deals.
He told Football Insider: “I think a couple of the deals are already basically done.
“Clearly, they want those players in for the Club World Cup.
“I guess Pep will be less concerned about the size of his squad versus the whole season.
“So, I think for a tournament he’s generally relaxed about, I don’t know what the rule is going to be in terms of the number of substitutes or the size of squads, but you’d think something like 25 players will go and if he’s got new signings, that’ll be an opportunity to bed them into the system.
“That probably just means he takes less of the younger players, so I would imagine that there will be at least two players coming in before the Club World Cup, maybe more.
“I think the rumour mill is suggesting that we might hear more early next week.”

Jack Grealish drops Man City exit bombshell
In terms of a potential exit, Football Insider revealed on 22 May Jack Grealish has told friends he doesn’t expect to be at Man City next season.
The England international has confided to those close to him that he believes he has been “frozen out” by Guardiola because the manager wants him to seek a move away.
A huge complication in any exit is the 29-year-old’s wages, which are believed to be worth around £300,000 a week.
