Man City hold Ederson talks after “massive” offer – sources

Ederson is holding crunch talks with Man City as he weighs up huge offers from the Saudi Pro League, sources have told Football Insider.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper has been offered a “massive” contract to complete a summer move and Pep Guardiola has admitted a transfer is possible.

Man City and Guardiola are keen on keeping Ederson at the club and are set to offer him an extension to remain at the Premier League champions.

A transfer is now a live possibility for Ederson as the Saudi Pro League seeks to continue bringing high-profile names to the competition.

Ederson isn’t the only potential departure at the Etihad Stadium, Football Insider revealed (July 21) that the club would be willing to accept a cut-price offer for Kalvin Phillips.

Ederson could leave Man City after “massive” offer

The Brazilian goalkeeper joined Man City from Benfica in 2017 and has since become a vital part of Guardiola’s trophy-winning machine.

With 332 appearances for the club under his belt, Ederson has won six Premier League titles, 4 League cups, 2 FA Cups, and a Champions League in their 2022-23 treble-winning season.

Ederson has kept an impressive 155 clean sheets at Man City and has cemented himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Premier League history.

A few injuries last season saw the 30-year-old miss eight games for the club and he remains injured with an eyebrow fracture.

Stefan Ortega has emerged as an adequate replacement with some impressive displays but losing Ederson would be a huge hit to Man City.
