Man City in new Andrea Cambiaso talks – star ‘very keen to move’
Man City have held renewed talks with Juventus in their efforts to sign Andrea Cambiaso, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the 24-year-old is “very keen” to move to the Premier League and play in Pep Guadiola’s City side.
However, the deal is seen as a difficult one to pull off before the 3 February deadline given the finances involved and Juventus‘ reluctance to sell.
The Italian giants feel that if the full-back leaves this month, they will have to sign a replacement, and are concerned that may not be possible in the little time left.
Cambiaso is seen as a key member of Thiago Motta’s squad and they are holding out for around £75million to let him leave, having already rejected a £54.5million bid.
City, meanwhile, would be willing to pay around £60million for him and have been attempting to bring his price down during extensive negotiations.
As things stand, though, the deal looks unlikely to reach a conclusion before the deadline and City will be forced to revisit in the summer.

Football Insider revealed last week that Cambiaso remains City’s top priority this month and they are expected to push for the signing in the window’s final week.
His versatility to play either on the left or right-hand side of the defence, as well as moving into midfield, has made him the ideal target for Guardiola’s system.
So far this season, he has featured in all but one of Juventus’ Serie A fixtures and in six of their eight Champions League games where he helped them quality for the playoff round.
Kyle Walker’s departure on loan to AC Milan saw City forced to step up their interest in Cambiaso, with a new right-back key in the window’s closing stages.
However, the full-back has become an important player under Motta, who is not willing to weaken his squad mid-way through the season after their difficult league campaign so far.
