‘Man City make Pedro Porro transfer decision after source’s reveal’
Man City are unlikely to pursue a move to sign Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro this summer and will instead assess alternative targets.
That is according to former Man United and Spurs scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 25-year-old is one of “four or five” options City have looked at.
While the position has become a priority ahead of the transfer window, City have doubts about him and would not be willing to spend a big fee to bring him in.
This comes after Football Insider revealed Man City could struggle to sign Porro as Spurs will demand a lofty asking price of £50million.
After a difficult season under Ange Postecoglou, the weaknesses to the wing-back’s game have been exposed, leading to questions about his ability.
However, right-back has become a key position for Pep Guardiola’s side, as he has recently experimented with deploying Matheus Nunes in a makeshift role.

Man City eye ‘four or five’ Kyle Walker alternatives
Brown told Football Insider in October that Man City are eyeing a move for Porro and he is “definitely” on their list of targets to replace Kyle Walker.
However, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted City are now unlikely to make a move for the right-back.
“I don’t doubt Pedro Porro is one Man City have had a look at,” he told Football Insider.
“The question is, does he strengthen their starting XI enough to warrant spending big money on?
“They’ve played a number of people in the right-back area since Kyle Walker left and it’s a position they’ve identified and want to improve this summer.
“I don’t think Porro is the answer to that particular situation, and from what I hear, they have doubts.
“Man City will have a list of four or five players who could come into that position if they can do a deal.
“Porro may well be a name on that list, but he’s not going to be at the top of it.
“There are too many weaknesses to his game and they’ve been exposed at Spurs this season.
“If it was a cheap deal, it would make more sense, but they’re going to have to spend big money on him because of the way Daniel Levy operates.
“So I think it’s unlikely he’ll be the one they go for – they’re more likely to look elsewhere.”

Rodri contract update emerges after Real Madrid latest
Alongside their efforts to sign replacements for the likes of Walker this summer, City are also aiming to keep their best players at the club.
Football Insider revealed on 25 April that Man City will offer Rodri a new contract to deter interest from Real Madrid after struggling to replace him in midfield.
Sources have said City are “desperate” to get Rodri back to fitness and still see him as a key man, while he is happy to remain at the club beyond this summer.
However, Brown told Football Insider in November that Rodri could be tempted by Real Madrid as players often find it difficult to turn down Los Blancos.
