Man City mock comments from Mikel Arteta in social media message
Mikel Arteta’s past comments have come back to haunt him in Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City.
Arteta was previously at Man City under Pep Guardiola before leaving in 2019 to take up the role as manager at Arsenal.
The Spaniard has led Arsenal to an FA Cup during his time in north London and has had intense rivals against Guardiola in pursuit of the Premier League title.
Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest last time out means they had won three of their opening four Premier League fixtures coming into the game.

Erling Haaland moment sparks social media message
It took Man City just nine minutes to break the deadlock thanks to an Erling Haaland strike.
Gary Neville was wowed by Haaland’s goal and the passage of play that led up to the it, before the striker provided a low finish beyond David Raya.
Man City took to social media to post a picture of Haaland’s goal with the caption: “Finisher.”
The caption mocked Arteta’s terminology of what the Spaniard prefers to call his substitutes that come and try and impact the game.
Arsenal fans were stunned with Arteta’s team selection with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze only on the bench.
Haaland proves difference maker again
Haaland’s goal was his 12th in seven matches in all competitions this season, and gave Man City a vital lead against their title rivals.

Arsenal thrashed Man City 5-1 in this fixture last season, so there would have been an urgency to write some wrongs from Guardiola’s camp.
That fast start was despite Arsenal’s increased preparation time over Man City for the clash, and Guardiola opting to make no changes from the side that beat Napoli in the Champions League.
It continued to prove the quality in Man City’s squad despite many believing they will not be able to topple Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.
