Man City news: Big update on Pep Guardiola summer exit – sources
Pep Guardiola will not be leaving Manchester City this summer after being linked with a return to Bayern Munich.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed Guardiola’s representatives have confirmed he will not be replacing the outgoing Thomas Tuchel as the Bundesliga giants’ new manager.
The Spaniard signed a one-year extension on his current deal in November 2023, ensuring he will remain with the Citizens for another year.
O’Rourke revealed the questions around the 53-year-old’s future will resurface again next season ahead of his contract expiring in June 2025.
The Premier League champions are desperate to prolong his stay at the Etihad, but it is believed they are aware the final decision will lie with Guardiola.
Pep Guardiola could leave Man City in 2025
Man City have achieved great success during the Catalan’s time at the helm, having won 16 trophies over the past eight years.
Guardiola is well-placed to deliver more trophies again this season, with the club currently second in the Premier League table and set to face Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
O’Rourke revealed more details on his future will emerge later this year when Etihad chiefs will look to hold talks over a new contract.

The Spanish boss has now been in charge at Man City four years longer than he previously spent managing his boyhood club Barcelona.
Guardiola took a year-long sabbatical after leaving the Spanish giants in 2012 and could take a similar break when he eventually parts ways with the Citizens.
In other news, City and Arsenal race to sign £100million star.
