Man City news: Campbell issues ‘dream’ Erling Haaland verdict after pictures emerge
Kevin Campbell is adamant Erling Haaland will hit the ground running for Man City after the centre-forward was pictured training with his new teammates.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said “it is a dream” for Haaland, 21, to play with such creative and intelligent footballers.
As pictured by club media (17 July), Haaland joined his new City teammates in the first session of their pre-season tour in the US.
The striker put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Etihad earlier this summer after the Premier League champions triggered his release clause at Borussia Dortmund.
Pep Guardiola’s side begin their title defence at West Ham on 7 August.
They face Liverpool in the FA Community Shield nine days earlier.
When asked by Football Insider if Haaland has enough time between now and then to gel with his new teammates, Campbell said: “Look, the way Man City create chances there is no way Haaland is not going to hit the ground running.
“For a goalscorer like Haaland, it is a dream.
“Look at all of the quality that is around him. There is so much football brains in that squad. The talent is incredible.

“You have Kevin De Bruyne, who is the cherry on the cake.
“I do not see Haaland having a problem at City. He will score a hatful of goals. He is tailor made for City.”
In other news, Kieran Maguire cannot believe what has been said in a Man City court case and claims ‘it doesn’t make sense’.
