Man City news: Expert claims £50m Raheem Sterling deal could change Premier League forever
Kevin Campbell has suggested the floodgates could open for players moving between title rivals in the Premier League if Man City star Raheem Sterling joins Chelsea.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Citizens need to recoup funds by selling the 27-year-old to a potential competitor.
According to The Guardian (27 June), Chelsea are preparing a bid for Sterling – who has a year left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

The report claims an offer of between £50million and £60million would be enough for City to part with the England superstar.
The Telegraph report (27 June) that Chelsea have also opened talks with Pep Guardiola’s side over a deal to bring Nathan Ake back to Stamford Bridge in what would be a rare double swoop.
Campbell claimed “beggars can’t be choosers” as Man City look to recoup their initial £50million outlay on Sterling.
“All this talk about selling to rivals – forget about all that,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“It’s all going to start happening now. The money in the game is so vast now that beggars can’t be choosers.
“Clubs cannot refuse to sell to rivals if there is a good financial deal on the table. You’re going to need to bring transfer fees in and get people off the wage bill in order to bring other players in.”

Chelsea finished some 19 points short of Man City in the 2021/22 season as Guardiola’s side lifted a second straight league title.
The Blues are yet to complete a summer signing, while the reigning champions have added elite striker Erling Haaland.
In other news, pundit claims Man City may be ready to sell versatile star as personal terms agreed.
