Man City news: Pundit issues ‘big’ Jack Grealish claim after source’s transfer reveal

Kevin Campbell has claimed Jack Grealish should not be worried about the potential arrival of another winger at Man City next year.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker claimed competition is “part and parcel of being at a big club.”

According to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb (4 November), Man City and Chelsea are interested in signing AC Milan star Rafael Leao.

The winger, who operates primarily from the left-hand side, is said to be valued at around £105million.

His contract at the San Siro runs until the end of June 2024.

Pep Guardiola has a wealth of wingers at his disposal, with Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva all capable of playing on the flanks.

Football Insider revealed that Grealish has told friends he “doesn’t expect to be at City next season” in what would be a sensational potential transfer.

When asked by Football Insider if Leao’s arrival would impact players like Grealish at the Etihad, Campbell said: “Would it be a worry for Grealish? No.

“Competition is part and parcel of being at a big club. At a club like Man City, you are part of the squad and you play when called upon.

“Grealish has been in and out of the side. We have even seen [Kevin] De Bruyne on the bench at times. If he can be on the bench anyone can.”

Grealish impressed in Man City’s 2-0 win over Chelsea in the EFL Cup on Wednesday (9 November).

The 27-year-old has made 17 appearances across all competitions this season but he has still scored only one goal and is yet to supply an assist.
