Man City news: Pundit makes 'ridiculous' Erling Haaland claim after Sky reveal
Paul Robinson has claimed teams are in “fear” of Man City striker Erling Haaland.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the rate at which the 22-year-old scores goals is “ridiculous.”
Haaland scored as Pep Guardiola’s side won 3-0 at Wolves on Saturday (17 September).
The centre-forward also produced a match-winning display against his former club Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday (14 September).
As revealed by Sky Sports (15 September), the Norway international averages a goal every 62.4 minutes in the Champions League.
No player to have made at least 20 appearances in the competition is within 25 minutes of Haaland’s average.

When asked by Football Insider for his reaction to the stats, Robinson said: “It is ridiculous.
“He is a goalscoring monster who is only going to get better. That is the frightening thing. He is still so young.
“Man City are not scoring more goals than last season but the goals they are scoring and being scored by Haaland.
“He has the ability to occupy defenders. He distracts defenders. Whether it is a three or a two, they focus on him. That allows the rest of the City team to be destructive.
“He has an unbelievable ability to score goals. Other sides fear him now.”
Haaland has scored 14 goals in 10 appearances across all competitions this season.
He is the top scorer in the Premier League and Champions League.
