Man City on track to achieve unbelievable feat vs Liverpool, it will humiliate Arne Slot
Liverpool are set to host Man City on Sunday in a big clash for both sides midway through the campaign.
While the Reds did pick up an impressive 4-1 win over Newcastle last weekend, it is perhaps only the first step to winning back the fans after a shaky run of form.
In comparison, while Man City did progress into the Carabao Cup final in the week, their draw against Tottenham on the weekend has left them six points behind Arsenal.
Therefore, both teams are desperate for three points at Anfield on Sunday, and if Man City achieve this, it would see them finally do the double over the Reds.
Man City on track to achieve first league double over Liverpool since 1937
Despite Man City dominating the Premier League for over a decade, one thing has alluded them.
According to BBC Sport on 5 February, the Citizens have not achieved a league double over Liverpool since the 1936-37 campaign.
However, on Sunday, they could do just that, with Pep Guardiola’s side beating the Merseyside club 3-0 back in November in a comprehensive win.
If this is achieved, it would no doubt be humiliating for Arne Slot. Anfield is meant to be a fortress, and another defeat would see this illusion crack once more.

Liverpool have already lost twice at Anfield this season in the Premier League, and if this becomes three on the weekend, Slot’s position will become increasingly precarious, with Champions League qualification on the line.
Liverpool’s record vs Man City explained
Games between Liverpool and Man City have usually been close.
In their past eight meetings, both sides have three wins each, with the other two matches ending in draws.
However, when Man City win, it is usually by a big margin in the Premier League, seen in their 3-0 victory earlier in the season.
This was also seen in their last victory at Anfield, happening in 2021, when Guardiola oversaw a 4-1 win just before they lifted the title.
Nevertheless, Slot masterminded a double over Man City last season on the way to the title, and he and the rest of his squad will be looking to take inspiration from these matches to pick up three points on Sunday.
