‘Man City plan to accept huge Ederson bid after Saudi twist’
Man City could be tempted to cash in on Ederson for a “huge” fee amid growing interest in the goalkeeper from the Saudi Pro League.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson explained that speculation surrounding the 31-year-old’s future has refused to die down as Saudi clubs continue to eye big-name signings.
After failing in their attempts to sign Man United star Bruno Fernandes earlier this summer, there are no signs that the recruitment drive is slowing down.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in December that City will listen to “big” offers for Ederson as part of a major overhaul of their squad.
Despite the goalkeeper having shut down rumours surrounding his future, there is still a feeling that a £40-50million bid from the Saudi Pro League could change the situation.
Alternatively, Ederson has been tipped to run down his contract at the Etihad before making the move to the Middle East next summer on an inflated pay packet.

Ederson could leave Man City after ‘massive’ reveal
Football Insider revealed in April that Ederson is attracting “massive” interest from Saudi Arabia and has been considering his options ahead of the summer window.
While the goalkeeper’s recent confession has clouded his future somewhat, there is still no guarantee that he will be Pep Guardiola’s number-one next season.
Robinson explained that, having entered the final year of his contract, City will be prepared to let Ederson leave if they get a “good fee” for him.
“Saudi Pro League clubs will be on a recruitment drive this summer,” he told Football Insider.
“We’ve already seen them try to tempt Bruno Fernandes away from Manchester United and they’ll be going for a lot of other big names this summer.
“The speculation around Ederson hasn’t gone away.
“He’s coming into the last year of his contract, having been at the club since 2017.
“He’s 31 now, so for a goalkeeper he’s still got a lot of time left in him.
“It’s a move that I could see happening if they get a good fee for him.
“If a huge fee comes in from a Saudi club and allows him to move on, then that money might be invested in a new goalkeeper.
“He’s come out to say he’ll be staying at City, but he’s in the last year of his contract and if there’s a Saudi club willing to pay £40-50million for him now…
“He could run his contract down and that money would go into his wages next year.”

Tino Livramento update emerges as Newcastle stance revealed
While departing players have been the topic of plenty of discussion at the Etihad, Guardiola is also aiming to add more quality to his starting XI.
Brown told Football Insider on 1 July that City could accelerate their interest in Tino Livramento after his impressive displays for England at the Under-21 Euros.
Guardiola’s side are planning their next steps after identifying the England international as their top target to replace Kyle Walker at right-back.
However, Brown told Football Insider on 3 July that Newcastle will demand “crazy” money for Livramento and are extremely reluctant to let him go.
