Man City plan to accept ‘huge’ Savinho offer after what happened with Tottenham
Man City are open to letting Savinho leave in the January transfer window despite having blocked his move to Tottenham during the summer.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Pep Guardiola does not see the 21-year-old as a regular starter.
Man City fans have been disappointed by Savinho since the start of the 2025-26 campaign, with the 21-year-old yet to score in the Premier League this season.
Of his 20 appearances so far, just nine have come from the start, and former City financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Man City could sell Savinho in January.
As a result, interested parties have been put on alert that the Brazil international may soon become available if they can meet City’s asking price.

Man City prepared to accept new Savinho offer
Brown told Football Insider in August that Tottenham were working on signing Savinho late in the window, although the deal never came to fruition.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted the winger could now be allowed to leave should a “huge” offer arrive.
“I wouldn’t be surprised to see Savinho leave City in January,” he told Football Insider.
“He has been relegated to more of a backup role because Cherki has come in and hit the ground running, and Doku and Foden have both stepped up.
“Savinho is a top player, but at the moment, he’s not improving or making himself a regular there.
“Guardiola doesn’t see him as a starter ahead of those other players I named, so there’s every chance that if they get an offer, they could let him go.

“We know City like to have that depth in their squad, but say someone comes in with a huge offer for him, I think they would let him go.
“Tottenham were obviously interested during the summer and nothing came of it, but that interest is still going to be there from them and other clubs too.”
Could Tottenham reignite their interest in the Man City star?
Savinho came close to joining Tottenham during the summer as Thomas Frank looked to add to his squad, but Guardiola put paid to any chance of his exit.
However, Football Insider revealed in September that Savinho could push to join Tottenham in January if he does not play an increased role in the Man City side.
Spurs remain keen to strengthen out wide in the mid-season window after missing out on key targets including the City winger late in the summer window.

Football Insider in September that Tottenham must bid around £65million to sign Savinho, with City holding out for a high price if they are to let him go.
City had previously been steadfast in their decision to keep the Brazil international, but are believed to be opening up to the idea of a deal for the right fee.
