Man City plan to finalise two transfers as Lucas Paqueta terms agreed – sources
Man City are ready to green light a move for West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed Paqueta, 26, is high on the list of potential replacements for City star Bernardo Silva and personal terms have already been agreed.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (21 May) that Silva is ready for a new challenge and is keen to move abroad this summer.
It is believed Paris Saint-Germain are once again pushing to land the 29-year-old in the off-season.
Paqueta came close to joining Man City last summer (2023) before an FA betting probe halted negotiations.
It is believed the Premier League champions are ready to push through a deal for the Brazil international if he is cleared of any wrongdoing.
Paqueta is potential Bernardo Silva replacement at Man City
City and Paqueta agreed personal terms last year before the investigation came to light – with the midfielder keen to play Champions League football and compete for titles.
The 26-year-old joined West Ham from Lyon in 2022 and has a contract with the club running until June 2027 – with an option for an extra year.
He has played both as a central attacking midfielder and wide on the left under David Moyes, who has departed West Ham.

Paqueta notched eight goals and seven assists in 43 games across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign.
The former Lyon star will play for Brazil at this summer’s Copa America tournament in the United States.
