Man City player who lost 10 ground duels among their three losers from draw vs Chelsea

Pep Guardiola will demand more from his Man City stars in the Premier League title race following their draw with Chelsea.

Man City’s 0-0 draw against Sunderland allowed Arsenal to open up a seven-point gap at the top of the table.

Tijjani Reijnders thought he had netted the only goal of the game against Chelsea to return Guardiola’s side to winning ways, but Enzo Fernandez’s 94th minute equaliser earned the visitors a point.

Rayan Cherki

Rayan Cherki has been a fine signing for Man City, but the 22-year-old was not at his best against Chelsea.

Cherki did not influence proceedings, and was ineffective when Chelsea began to put pressure on the Man City defence in the second half.

The Frenchman won just five of his 15 ground duels, and was easily dispossessed by Reece James in the penalty area when he took too long to get a shot away.

Josko Gvardiol

In a blow to Guardiola, Josko Gvardiol hobbled off the pitch early in the second half, with the Man City boss hoping the injury is nothing serious.

The 23-year-old, is an attacking threat as well as a solid defender, and his versatility means he can also play at left-back.

The Croatia international had won all his ground duels and won all his tackles against Chelsea before being forced off.

Bernardo Silva

Bernardo Silva, who could leave Man City at the end of the season, was an uninfluential figure against Chelsea.

The Man City captain had 49 touches in midfield, won just three of his eleven ground duels and committed five fouls.

The Portugal international has contributed just two assists for Guardiola’s side this season, with Spaniard perhaps expecting more from the star.
