‘Man City ready £300m+ signing spree as primary target jets in for talks’
Manchester City are preparing to spend big this summer as they look to strengthen their squad significantly ahead of next season.
Pep Guardiola’s side have faced various challenges this season, having failed to defend their Premier League title for a fifth year in a row and exiting the Champions League early.
Man City spent around £200million on new signings in January as Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Nico Gonzalez all made the move to the Etihad.
The Manchester giants’ performances have improved over the past few months as they are well placed to qualify for the Champions League, with five spots on offer to top-flight clubs.
They are gearing up for their FA Cup final showdown against Crystal Palace at Wembley on Saturday (17 May) in what is their last chance to claim domestic silverware this season.
Man City will also head to the US to take part in the Club World Cup next month, with the winner of the competition banking around £97million in prize money.

Man City plan double signing after new twist
Man City are putting plans in place ahead of the summer transfer window as they look to challenge for the Premier League title again next season.
Florian Wirtz has emerged as Man City’s primary target to replace the outgoing Kevin De Bruyne following his performances for Bayer Leverkusen over the past couple of seasons.
German newspaper BILD reported on 13 May the 22-year-old jetted in to have talks with Man City over a potential move to the Etihad.
However, Bayern Munich and Liverpool are also believed to be in the race to sign Wirtz, who has a price tag of around £126million.
The Germany international has registered 16 goals and 15 assists in 44 appearances for Leverkusen this season.
Man City are also plotting a move for Morgan Gibbs-White alongside Wirtz, with some of their midfield players showing signs their best days could be behind them.
Player | Wirtz | Gibbs-White |
Appearances | 44 | 36 |
Goals | 16 | 6 |
Assists | 15 | 10 |
Man City make move to sign Tijjani Reijnders
Tijjani Reijnders has been earmarked as another potential option in midfield.
The Athletic reported on 13 May Man City have contacted AC Milan about the 26-year-old’s availability this summer.
Meanwhile, the right-back position is another area where Guardiola wants to strengthen as he looks to replace Kyle Walker.
Man City have shown an interest in Tino Livramento, but Newcastle United are expected to demand a big fee to sell the 22-year-old.
If the 10-time English champions were to complete those four deals, they could be looking at an outlay of close to £300million.
Man City are also unlikely to stop there as their squad is ageing and other areas likely need strengthening this summer.
Etihad chiefs are clearly not messing around as they look to get their business done early ahead of next season.
