Man City set sights on signing PSG sensation after source’s ‘huge’ reveal – sources
Man City have set their sights on signing Paris Saint-Germain sensation Xavi Simons to the club as a long-term successor to Kevin de Bruyne.
Sources have told Football Insider the 21-year-old is a priority target for Pep Guardiola’s side but they will face stiff competition from Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
Simons re-joined RB Leipzig on loan from PSG this summer having scored ten goals and provided 15 assists for the German club last season.
De Bruyne, 33, is out of contract at the end of the season after 10 years, six Premier League titles, and a Champions League with the Manchester club.

Simons has started all three of RB Leipzig’s games across all competitions this season, scoring once and providing one assist.
He’s returned to his club following an impressive international break with the Netherlands in which he scored once in their UEFA Nations League game against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Much like Man City, RB Leipzig are unbeaten so far this season although they don’t sit at the top of their domestic league like their English counterparts.

The current Premier League champions have started this season as they ended the last, winning all three of their games thanks in large part to seven goals from Erling Haaland.
De Bruyne has also been in fantastic form so far this season, starting all three of Man City’s games, scoring once, and providing an assist for Haaland in their 4-1 win over Ipswich.
