Man City star Jack Grealish reacts to Jacob Ramsey in Aston Villa message
Man City winger Jack Grealish responded to Jacob Ramsey’s social media post following the midfielder’s goal in the 1-1 Aston Villa draw with West Ham.
Unai Emery’s men took an early lead at Villa Park on 26 January, with Ramsey scoring in just the eighth minute. The 21-year-old combined brilliantly with Ollie Watkins in a one-two before calmly slotting the ball into the net.
However, the Hammers struck back in the 70th minute through Emerson Palmieri, who capitalised on being unmarked at the back post to convert Edson Alvarez’s cross, securing a share of the spoils for the visitors.
Despite the result, Ramsey remained optimistic and posted on Instagram, saying, “We keep going!”
Grealish, a former Villa captain and academy graduate, showed his admiration by liking the post. Teammates also showed their support, with Morgan Rogers sharing a post on his story and Lucas Digne commenting, “Starboy”.
Aston Villa rely on Jacob Ramsey as Jack Grealish speculation grows
Ramsey has been a key figure for Unai Emery this season, starting 10 matches and making 23 appearances in all competitions.
While his stats show just two goals and two assists, Ramsey’s performances have earned the trust of his manager, evidenced by his inclusion in Villa’s last four Premier League starting lineups.

Meanwhile, Grealish has had a difficult season at Man City, with the club open to selling the 29-year-old. Fans have voiced their frustration, fuelling speculation that his time at the Etihad is nearing an end.
Villa’s 1-1 draw with West Ham has moved them up to eighth in the Premier League, only four points behind fourth-placed Man City in the race for Champions League qualification.
Football Insider Verdict
As Grealish struggles in Manchester, talk of a potential return to Villa Park has gained traction, with former striker Darren Bent among those urging the club to make the move.
While his possible return may excite fans, Ramsey’s rise reflects the unity and spirit within the current squad—a camaraderie that Grealish himself may be missing.
In other news, Aston Villa legend Gabby Agbonlahor has took to social media to criticise a player as he is close to a departure.
