Man City star Jack Grealish sends ‘always and forever’ message to Aston Villa fans

Man City star Jack Grealish has sent a message to Aston Villa fans on the anniversary of a special anniversary during his career.

The 29-year-old was a much-loved figure at Villa Park, having made over 200 appearances for the Villans before making the £100million switch to the Etihad Stadium in 2021.

Grealish, who has been tipped to return to Villa one day, has won three Premier League titles and the Champions League with Pep Guardiola but is now struggling for game time.

He seems to have thrown fuel on that rumour after sharing a special memory from his days at Villa Park, with Monday 10 March marking six years since his winner against Birmingham City at St Andrew’s Park.

Jack Grealish still holds love for Aston Villa

Taking to Instagram stories [10 March], Grealish wrote: “One of the best days of my life, for sure. Always and forever, no matter what,” with a blue heart.

The majority of fans will remember the game for one particular incident – a Birmingham City fan running onto the pitch to land a punch on the star, who eventually scored the winner against his club’s bitter rivals.

It remains to be seen exactly how well Grealish’s return to Villa Park would be welcomed by the Villa fans, and many may feel that there is no longer room for him in the squad.

Marco Asensio, who has already been dubbed Villa’s next Grealish, and Marcus Rashford have both lit up the pitch since arriving in Birmingham last month, with fans wanting both to stay permanently.

Jack Grealish became a key figure at Villa Park.

With Donyell Malen signing from Borussia Dortmund, adding to the likes of Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey, Unai Emery is quickly building a super squad.

Grealish, however, will always hold a special place in the hearts of those at Villa Park, and given his post about the club on social media, he clearly still loves Villa with everything.

After all, he grew up there and became the player we know today, just a little more robotic under Guardiola’s leadership. If he were to return to Villa, he would need to be the creative version of Grealish fans used to know and love.
