Man City star ‘needs to leave’ after ‘horrid’ footage from Liverpool clash

Manchester City left it late to earn a crucial three points at Liverpool in the Premier League title race.

A Bernardo Silva strike and an Erling Haaland penalty turned the game around for Man City after Dominik Szoboszlai had put Liverpool in front in the second half.

Marc Guehi escaped a red card for a challenge on Mohamed Salah, whilst Szoboszlai was sent off in the final moments of the contest.

Man City move back within six points of league leaders Arsenal, who had beaten Sunderland 3-0 a day earlier, with 13 matches left in the season.

Antoine Semenyo blasted for Liverpool display

Man City signed Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in the January transfer window, and the winger had made an immediate impact at the club.

Semenyo scored four goals in his first five appearances for the club, but the 26-year-old has now not found the back of the net in his last two games.

Against Liverpool, Semenyo had just three touches in the opposition box, won just two of his eight ground duels and committed three fouls.

Pep Guardiola is currently without Jeremy Doku and Savinho due to injury, meaning Semenyo is the only natural winger available for selection.

It was a tough afternoon for Semenyo at Anfield, with Man City fans left questioning the winger and his ability to make an impact on games.

Luis Enrique in contention for Man City job

Guardiola could leave Man City at the end of the season despite having another year left on his contract at the Etihad.

PSG manager Luis Enrique could be a contender to replace Guardiola, with his contract also expiring in 2027.

Enrique has had successful spells at PSG and Barcelona, with the 55-year-old having won the Champions League with the French club last season.

The Spaniard could face competition for the role from former Man City assistant manager Enzo Maresca, who worked under Guardiola at the club.

Maresca was sacked by Chelsea in January, even though the Italian managed to win the Club World Cup and Europa Conference League in his first season at Stamford Bridge.

It is believed Maresca would turn down any advances by Tottenham to re-join Man City if Guardiola does step down.
