Man City stars react to Kyle Walker’s ‘big’ message after Liverpool win in final seconds

Man City players showed their support to former teammate Kyle Walker’s message following Burnley’s last-second loss to Liverpool.

Burnley faced a dramatic loss to Liverpool after conceding a penalty with Hannibal Mejbri handling in the box just minutes before the final whistle.

Mejbri was slammed by Sky Sports commentator Jamie Carragher for his handball, especially as it cost the side from gaining a crucial point.

Meanwhile, Walker started for the Clarets and performed well against the reigning Premier League champions with two clearances, one interception and winning two ground duels.

Walker left Man City to join Burnley on a permanent deal in the summer after a fall-out with Pep Guardiola earlier in the year.

Despite that, his former teammates showed support to the Englishman in his latest message following the side’s defeat to Liverpool.

Walker posted an emotional but determined message on Instagram that drew reaction from his former and current teammates.

He said: “Couldn’t have been prouder of us as a team today. Sadly it wasn’t enough but I felt we showed a lot of character today.

“No time to be down, we have a big home game next Saturday.”

His former teammates at City such as Phil Foden and Taylor Harwood-Bellis liked the message, with Maxime Esteve commenting with a heart emoji.

Walker has featured in every single game for his new side since his arrival in the summer, proving a crucial player for Scott Parker’s side as they aim to survive relegation.

It was revealed to Football Insider by former financial advisor Stefan Borson that Walker took a pay cut to leave Man City and join the Clarets, especially after Guardiola made it clear the defender was no longer part of his plans.

Man City target Tino Livramento to fill Kyle Walker void

Although City opted against signing a right-back in the summer to cover Walker’s departure, they are still targeting Tino Livramento for future windows.

However, Football Insider revealed that Newcastle are set to offer Livramento a new contract to fend off interest from Guardiola’s side.

City have considered accelerating a move for the right-back after a summer deal failed to materialise, but their chances of landing him in January could be hindered if a new deal is signed.
