Kieran Maguire: Man City thrilled as Acronis deal agreed - 'one of the best in the league'
The longevity of Acronis’ deal with Man City signals how “delighted” the pair are with their commercial relationship.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about City’s sponsorship arrangement with the cybersecurity firm.
As reported by Sport Business on Monday (25 July), a deal has been struck for the partnership to enter its fifth year.
Acronis also provide data security services for the likes of Liverpool and West Ham.
City generated £271.7m through sponsorship and merchandising income in 2020-21, the last financial year on record.
It is expected that their 2021-22 accounts will show an upswing on that figure in light of City’s new commercial deals with companies such as Masdar and OKX.

Maguire claims that City, who have one of the “best” commercial departments in the Premier League, will have received a handsome fee as part of the renewed deal with Acronis.
“It looks like a win-win relationship,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“City will be delighted with the fee and Acronis will be delighted with the profile that is associated with the Premier League winners brings.
“It helps Acronis seek out new business deals, in terms of sponsoring other teams and elsewhere. City are one of the best in the league at doing these deals.
“You would expect that this would continue. Long-term relationships tend to be quite good ones. You only have to look at Liverpool and Standard Chartered, Brighton and Amex. Everybody seems happy.”
City face Liverpool in the Community Shield at the King Power on Saturday (30 July).
They begin their 2022-23 Premier League season away to West Ham the following Sunday (7 August).
