‘Man City to be transformed next season after what I just heard from Pep’
Manchester City could have a “new look” ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign which could see them challenge for the title.
Last season, Pep Guardiola’s side finished a disappointing third, 13 points adrift of runaway league winners Liverpool.
However, the Manchester side have been incredibly busy in the transfer market, as they look to bridge the gap to Arne Slot’s side.
City have already added the likes of Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders, and Rayan Ait-Nouri to their ranks, as well as facilitating a number of notable departures.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that the squad refresh could be exactly what Guardiola’s side needed.

Man City are reinvigorated and ready to challenge Liverpool
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that under the guidance of a “fresh” Guardiola, this “new look” Man City side will be fighting at the sharp end of the Premier League.
However, City were knocked out of the Club World Cup at the last 16 stage, after a shock defeat to Saudi side Al Hilal.
Wyness added that Guardiola wants to get his team back in England as soon as possible, after their exit.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I heard Pep speaking earlier this week. He wants to get this squad home, get some rest if he can, and come back mentally refreshed as much as anything else.
“He’s going to be working harder. Hopefully he’s learned some fragile things about the way they were getting hit on the counter attack.
“I still expect Pep to come back very fresh and reinvigorated with a new look Man City for this next season, and I still think they’re going to be up there in the finishing crowd.”

Newcastle ‘doing all they can’ to stop Tino Livramento quitting
Meanwhile, Newcastle United are doing everything they can to keep Tino Livramento at the club beyond the summer transfer window.
Eddie Howe is determined not to lose any of his best players this summer and will stand firm on the club’s lofty valuation of the England international.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 1 July that Man City could accelerate their interest in Livramento after watching him at the Under-21 Euros.
Guardiola sees the right-back as the ideal replacement for Kyle Walker after the former City captain left to join Burnley on a two-year deal.
