‘Man City to break bank for Dani Olmo as agent leaves door open’

Manchester City could make a move for Dani Olmo, with his agent hinting that the midfielder could be open to joining the club in the future.

Pep Guardiola’s side have had a tough season, struggling in their defence of the Premier League title.

The Citizens currently sit sixth in the Premier League, after Aston Villa beat Tottenham and Chelsea beat Manchester United.

City are in real danger of missing out on Champions League football, and must ensure that they win their final two games to finish in the top five.

It would be a disaster if they didn’t reach Europe’s elite competition, and would potentially harm their chances of bringing in world-class talent in the summer.

Olmo’s agent doesn’t rule out City move

Man City are in pole position to sign Florian Wirtz, who they hope will boost their attacking options.

However, it doesn’t stop there, City are also in for Tijjani Reijnders as Guardiola looks to overhaul his midfield ahead of next season.

Now, there are further midfield links for the blue side of Manchester, with Dani Olmo’s agent speaking about his client’s potential move to the Etihad.

As reported on X (16 May) by Patrick Berger of Sky Sports Germany, Olmo’s agent Andy Bara has said: “We are not talking to any other club. Dani is very happy in Barcelona at the moment, he’s winning titles there and is part of a great team. The rumors are not true. But of course, you never know what the future will bring…“

City rebuild much needed

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Man City must sell players before they can bring in new ones, like Reijnders, Olmo, and Wirtz.

It looks as if Guardiola is committing to a complete rebuild of his City squad, and that is very much needed after a disappointing campaign.

City are 6th in the table

Just last week, Ruben Dias had a rant at Southampton’s style of play, after the Manchester club couldn’t break the already relegated side down.

Without Rodri, City’s midfield has looked weak, and reinforcements are required if they are to challenge Liverpool for the title next season.

Early suggestions in the media suggest that City mean business in the transfer market, but we’ll only know for sure on the opening day of next season as we wait to see if Guardiola’s side will be ready to dominate again.
