‘Man City to sack Pep Guardiola’ – fans explode at ‘insane’ decision
Manchester City supporters have turned their frustration towards Pep Guardiola following a new update on January signing Nico Gonzalez.
Gonzalez joined City during the winter window from Porto in a £50million deal, arriving as a potential long-term successor to Rodri in midfield.
Initially, Man City fans were impressed with Gonzalez and his early performances. However, his involvement steadily declined towards the end of the campaign.
The Spaniard was notably left out of the starting XI for the latter part of the season, including the Club World Cup, where he started in just one match.
Adding to his frustration, Man City moved to sign Tijjani Reijnders last month. The Dutch international has quickly become a regular starter, even ahead of experienced figures like Ilkay Gundogan and Gonzalez.
Now, with game time still limited despite his price tag and a mid-season arrival, fresh reports surrounding Gonzalez’s future have triggered backlash from fans.

Man City open to selling Nico Gonzalez after just six months after
Former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider on 8 July that Manchester City are now open to offers for Gonzalez — just half a year after his arrival from Porto.
Brown also revealed that Gonzalez’s agent has already held discussions with multiple clubs over a potential move away from the Etihad.
The midfielder made just 11 league appearances for City, scoring once and starting nine times. However, he was an unused substitute during City’s FA Cup defeat to Crystal Palace, a further indication of his limited role in the squad.
Football Insider had previously reported that Guardiola is preparing for a summer shake-up, with the likes of Jack Grealish, Ilkay Gundogan and Ederson all linked with possible exits.
Now, the club hierarchy appear to be acting decisively, even considering offloading Gonzalez only months into his contract.

Man City fans want Pep Guardiola sacked over Gonzalez treatment
Despite his short spell in Manchester, Gonzalez quickly became a fan favourite, praised for his composure and seen as a natural stand-in for Rodri.
However, news of his potential departure has only fuelled fan frustration toward Guardiola, who has already faced scrutiny for his squad management.
Man City supporters previously criticised Guardiola for repeatedly starting Gundogan during a poor stretch of form last season, when the club recorded just one win in 13 matches.
Following the update on Gonzalez, backlash has resurfaced. One fan commented: “We should get rid of Pep as soon as possible” while another said: “Pep destroyed his [Gonzalez] career.”
