‘Man City to sell Bernardo Silva, he’s done’ – fans rage at blunt reveal

Man City fans have turned their frustration towards Bernardo Silva following his post-match comments after their loss to Crystal Palace.

City’s season continued in bitter disappointment as they fell to a 1-0 defeat in the FA Cup final, leaving them without silverware for the campaign.

Eberechi Eze was the hero for Palace, scoring the only goal of the game to seal the club’s first major trophy in its history.

For Silva, it marks another chapter in a turbulent period, with the midfielder already linked with a summer exit.

Former City financial advisor Stefan Borson told Football Insider that the Silva is among the list of players that could leave Man City, with the club preparing for a significant squad overhaul.

Despite that looming uncertainty, it was Silva’s blunt comments after the full-time whistle that ignited backlash from supporters.

Bernardo Silva hits out at Man City teammates after FA Cup final loss

Following Manchester City’s shock defeat to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final, Silva didn’t hold back in his post-match assessment, delivering a stinging critique of his teammates.

Speaking after the match, the Portuguese international said “You learn a lot of new things, in the bad moments you learn new things.

“Who you can go to war with, first of all. Because it’s in the bad moments that you see who the real ones are.”

Silva continued: “It’s a tough season for us. It’s a really, really bad season for us. Something has to change next year” [Daily Mail].

His own future at the club has been under uncertainty as Silva was expected to leave Man City last summer, with both PSG and Barcelona registering serious interest. Although a move failed to materialise, speculation around his departure has now resurfaced.

Despite that, he has once again proven his value to Pep Guardiola’s side this season, with his versatility and consistency leading to 47 appearances and more than 3,700 minutes across all competitions.

Man City fans call for Bernardo Silva to be sold amid Benfica links

Clubs are likely to reintegrate their interest in the midfielder, and a potential return to Portugal could be on the cards. Silva has been heavily linked with a return to Benfica, but the Portuguese club are reportedly unwilling to pay his £42.6 million release clause.

Despite his contributions on the pitch, the reaction to Silva’s comments has been overwhelmingly negative among a portion of City’s fanbase. Many supporters have expressed their frustration online, urging the club to part ways with the midfielder.

One fan wrote in response to Silva’s comments: “You’re the issue as well. Time to go.” While another added: “Just let this guy leave, he’s done.”
