Man City fans have urged the club to sign Florian Wirtz following a fresh update in their pursuit of the highly-rated German midfielder.

He reported that the club were not originally prioritising targets, but with Hugo Vianna officially starting his role as City’s new director of football this week, the club have now refined their transfer shortlist.
While some Man City fans have questioned the idea of targeting Gibbs-White, their response to Wirtz has been far more enthusiastic.
Football Insider previously revealed that Man City have already held talks regarding a potential summer move for Wirtz with De Bruyne’s future being uncertain for a majority of the season until his announcement.

Wirtz, still just 21, has enjoyed another outstanding season, contributing 28 goals and assists combined, building on the 38 he produced last campaign during Leverkusen’s incredible unbeaten season.
He has long been considered one of Europe’s most exciting young prospects, and City view him as a strong candidate to fill the creative void left by De Bruyne’s departure.
It’s believed Wirtz would cost Man City around £100 million, with both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich also expressing interest. But City fans are clear in their preference.
With players like Jack Grealish and Phil Foden struggling to consistently deliver in the final third, supporters are calling for the German to be made a priority.
